الأهم من سفر المكان سفر الوجدان بداخلك، فما نفع تبديل الأماكن وأنت أنت؟

More important than the physical journey is the voyage within, for what use is changing places if you remain unchanged?

Hello, Salam, and thank you for being here 🌹

My name is Reem, and I’ve decided to start this blog as I begin a journey with no destination. A few months ago, I gave away most of my belongings and decided to embark on a journey, for the most part in search of a new place to call home. This is a documentation of my physical voyage as I travel through the world but more deeply, my soul journey, as all travel ultimately leads back to the One.

This is not your typical travel blog with itineraries and best places to sightsee. Instead, you will find my reflections on places I visit, people I meet who inspire me, books I read along the way, epiphanies I have in my solitude and in the presence of beautiful souls I meet…

Travel, when done consciously, has the power to transform and change us. For the past few years, I have travelled solo, but for the first time in my life, I’ve decided to pack up and leave my conventional life behind and travel with no plan or destination. While “wandering” has the connotation of travelling aimlessly, my intention is far from aimless; I am in search of growth, of knowledge, of alignment, of freedom, of my inner truth. The Qur’an asks us to “travel throughout the land and observe how He originated the creation” (29:20) قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ بَدَأَ الْخَلْقَ.

While I wander the earth, my heart reflects on the divine essence.

There is a wisdom, I believe, in leaving home; there is a soul transformation, a divine alchemy if we are willing to go through the process, through the fire, and come out as gold.
